Dr. Shankar Venkataraman joined the College of Management in the fall of 2008, after receiving his PhD from The University of Texas at Austin. His research looks at the judgment and decision-making processes of participants in the capital markets, both as preparers and users of accounting information.
His current research looks at how investors make judgments and decisions in response to voluntary financial disclosures by managers.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Venktaraman worked for a multinational bank in India and as a consultant in the United States helping companies design and implement financial application software.
