Global Business Forum April 23 to Explore Business Opportunities in Post-Olympic China spacer

Shanghai, China
Shanghai, China

Georgia Tech's 14th Global Business Forum on April 23 will focus on "Post-Olympic China – Business Opportunities and Challenges for U.S.-based firms."

Organized by Georgia Tech’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the forum will run from 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM on Wednesday, April 23 at the Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center (250 14th Street NW).

The forum is designed for business decision-makers; export, marketing and operations managers; strategic business planners, legal practitioners, consultants, and academics with a special interest in the region.

"We suggest bringing a team of executives to the forum because pursuing international markets affects the whole company," says John McIntyre, director of Georgia Tech CIBER and professor of strategic management.

Panel discussions led by corporate, academic and government leaders will include:

  • "The Chinese Operating Environment: Framing the Issues for U.S.-based Firms"
  • "Legal, Cultural and Marketing Considerations: From Guanxi to Rules-based Exchange"
  • "Select Industry Sectors"
  • "Corporate Experience: Success Stories in the Making"

Keynote addresses will be delivered by the Hon. John J. Norris Jr., director of the U.S. State Department's Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs; John Frisbie, president of the U.S.-China Business Council in Washington; and Wang Jinzhen, secretary general and vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The forum is co-organized by the China Research Center, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, NACA, and the U.S. Commercial Service. Sponsors include GreenbergTraurig, Premiere Global Services, and NACA.

The cost to attend the conference is $85.

To register or for more information, visit the CIBER Website or e-mail James Hoadley at james.hoadley@mgt.gatech.edu.
