Financing Your Degree spacer
spacer

Graduate school is an investment. When you invest money in your future, you should consider the expected return on your investment and your total cost.

Georgia Tech's international reputation for quality education and research can lead to the mistaken assumption that attending Tech is an expensive undertaking. Actually, our low tuition costs make Tech one of the more reasonably priced educational options in the United States.

The MBA program is relatively inexpensive, and students often comment, with relief, that they are debt-free upon graduation. The Georgia Tech degree is not only professionally respected, but also financially prudent.

Financial Assistance
Georgia Tech offers financial assistance from a variety of sources:

  • Graduate Assistantships
The College awards graduate assistantships (GAs) to more than 25 percent of each entering class based on academic merit, GMAT scores, and experience relevant to the needs of the College. GAs are assigned to work with a faculty member or administrator in the College for 14 hours per week. Responsibilities vary and may include research, tutoring students, or administrative tasks. Students may also look for graduate assistantships in other departments on campus. As many as 20 percent of MBA students find GAs in other academic areas or research units.
Graduate assistants receive a stipend of $3,000 per semester, a waiver of out-of-state tuition, and a substantial reduction of in-state tuition and fees, resulting in a cost of approximately $600 per semester. The deadline to apply for a graduate assistantship is January 15.
  • Other Sources of Funding
The Regents' Opportunity Scholarship Program awards a number of $5,000 scholarships to graduate students from historically disadvantaged and underrepresented groups in the University System of Georgia. Recipients of this award must be Georgia residents and full-time students in good standing.

Applicants should contact the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services at 404.894.4160 for the appropriate forms. While international applicants may express an interest in financial aid, restrictions on international students make it unlikely they will receive assistance.
